For the new headquarters of LED-X GmbH in Rain, designed by Leuenberger Architekten AG, the ambition was clear: acoustic elements had to match the precision, flexibility and design quality of the company’s own lighting systems.
At the centre of the project is a custom wave-shaped acoustic ceiling in the communal space – a defining spatial element that interacts directly with light.
From schneiderbrett’s perspective, the wave geometry was not only designed but also engineered into a buildable system. The freeform ceiling was developed as a continuous EchoBaffle® structure, resolving curvature, segmentation and suspension logic to ensure both visual fluidity and technical precision. As with all projects, this included full production development and detailed drawings.
In close collaboration with ECHOJAZZ and installation partner AKON AG, the concept was translated into a coordinated system where lighting and acoustics are fully integrated. The black acoustic sails and baffles form a calm, dark backdrop, while custom LED lines animate the ceiling – in the wave element as well as in the office areas, where luminaires are precisely embedded between the slats.
A custom-designed acoustic wave, developed from concept to production-ready system – creating a seamless interaction between light and acoustics, and elevating both into a unified spatial experience.
