How to design a comfortable, high-quality indoor shoe that is fully repairable? Designed in collaboration with Sebastian In-Albon, the answer lies in a glue-free leather shoe with a cork sole, engineered so it can be completely disassembled and reassembled at any time.
Developed with the expertise of master shoemakers and the renowned Swiss manufacturer Kandahar, the project merges traditional craft with a novel assembly approach. By inventing an innovative joining method for the shaft and sole, we eliminated glue entirely from the process—creating a durable, easily fixable shoe that encourages a more conscious approach to product life cycles. Alongside the footwear itself, the project introduced “nxtlvl”, a co-design platform that invites consumers and stakeholders to participate directly in the development process, fostering transparency and deeper connection between user and product.
